BEIRUT (AFP) - A Syrian lawmaker who was kidnapped by opposition jihadist fighters earlier this year has been executed, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said on Sunday.

A parliamentary source in Damascus, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Mr Mujhem al-Sahu, from eastern Deir Ezzor province, had been executed, without specifying who was responsible.
