Kerry hopes drone strikes in Pakistan will end 'very soon'

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - US Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday that the United States hoped drone strikes targeting Taliban and Al-Qaeda operatives in Pakistan would end "very soon".

Asked in an interview by state PTV whether Islamabad could expect an end to the strikes, which are unpopular in Pakistan, Kerry said: "I think the program will end as we have eliminated most of the threat and continue to eliminate it."
