In Holland, biking is much more than just a mode of transportation - it is a way of life.
To light up the bike paths that can be found in every Dutch city, design wunderkind Daan Roosegaarde and his team are designing a 600m-long path that absorbs sunlight and glows in the dark.
Luminous fragments embedded in the pavement will portray Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" on a short stretch not far from Nuenen, where the artist spent some time living and working.
Slated to open by the end of this year, not only will the path illuminate the way for bikers, but it will also put a sparkle in their spin.
