Hundreds of hot air balloons are attempting to soar to new world records at Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons, an international gathering in France.

More than 400 balloons took to the skies over Chambley-Bussieres in eastern France on Wednesday in an attempt to set a new world record for the most number of hot air balloons in the sky.

On Thursday, over 390 balloons formed up in a line in another record attempt.
