Germany to lift growth forecast for 2014 to 1.7 per cent

BERLIN (Reuters) - The German government will raise its forecast for growth in Europe's biggest economy to 1.7 per cent for next year from a previous estimate of 1.6 percent, a source familiar with the data told Reuters on Tuesday.

The economy minister, who will present the government's latest forecasts on Wednesday, will keep the growth estimate for this year at 0.5 per cent, said the source.
