MOSCOW (REUTERS) - Russian gas exports to Europe through Ukraine have not been affected by political turmoil in Kiev and were stable on Wednesday, said a spokesman for state-controlled gas producer Gazprom.

"Transit remains normal," he said.

Gazprom ships around half of its gas flows to Europe via Ukraine. The Russian state-owned company meets around 30 per cent of the European Union's gas consumption needs.
