SINGAPORE - As Ukrainians flee westward in anticipation of a new Russian offensive in Ukraine's eastern Donbass region, they leave behind a landscape scarred by Russian air strikes and artillery shelling.

The conflict, which started on Feb 24 after Russian forces attacked Ukraine on three sides, has left thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, as well as Russian soldiers, dead.
