Faces of the sun


The International Space Station flying in front of the sun as seen from Budapest, Hungary, early last Saturday; a Nasa handout highlights flaring, active regions of the sun in an image combining observations from several telescopes; a solar halo in the sky above Kathmandu last Wednesday. This weather phenomenon creates rainbows around the sun. The halo is formed by the reflection of ice crystals.
