Airshow crash death toll could hit 20

LONDON • The death toll from a jet crash at a British airshow could rise to 20.

Police said yesterday that seven fatalities are confirmed, but the likely toll of 11 may rise as wreckage is cleared after Saturday's crash onto a busy road of a vintage Hawker Hunter military jet performing a loop manoeuvre at the Shoreham Airshow on the south-east English coast. The pilot, experienced aerobatic stunt flier Andy Hill, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

'Suicides' over Ashley Madison leaks

TORONTO • At least two suicides may be connected to the hacking of the Ashley Madison cheating website that exposed the information of clients, and its parent company is offering a C$500,000 (S$534,000) reward to catch the hackers, Toronto police said yesterday. In addition to the suicides and the exposure of about 37 million Ashley Madison accounts,the attack on the infidelity website has also sparked extortion attempts, Toronto police Acting Staff Superintendent Bryce Evans said.
