Emmanuel Macron is at his best when he has a clear message to convey. In those moments, his passion and convictions shine, giving his arguments an added credibility.
One such case was last week, when he argued for globalisation, free trade and an open society at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He was not only rebuking the nationalistic comments of US President Donald Trump who spoke before him. The French President was fighting for the continuation of the European model. Mr Macron is well aware that this model is at a crossroads, attacked from the outside and - even worse - from within.
