Britain's government has ordered its tax authorities to complete preparations for the country's departure from the European Union later this year, regardless of whether the country manages to conclude a deal with the bloc over the terms of the separation.

Mr Sajid Javid, Britain's newly appointed Chancellor - or Finance Minister - instructed his tax collectors to put in place by the end of October all the necessary infrastructure to cope with what is expected to be a completely different Customs regime with Europe after Brexit, as the process of Britain's separation from the EU is popularly known.
