Vivian to speak at 'Smart City' expo

Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan is in Spain on a two-day visit and will deliver a plenary speech at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona which starts today.

During the three-day event, Dr Balakrishnan will also take part in the Singapore Dialogue tomorrow, which centres on the building of a smart nation.


Findings of diabetes, pregnancy study

Routine screening of pregnant women for diabetes helps early detection and treatment of those with the condition of elevated blood sugar, and brings health benefits that outweigh the cost of screening, a study here has found. The researchers from KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School will present details of their findings today.


S'pore-Shanghai financial forum today

The Monetary Authority of Singapore and Shanghai Municipal Financial Services Office are jointly organising the inaugural Singapore-Shanghai Financial Forum in Singapore today. The forum aims to become a regular platform for Singapore- and Shanghai-based financial institutions to share views on the latest trends and issues concerning both markets.
