OECD meeting to focus on trade

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) 2017 Ministerial Council Meeting will take place at its Paris headquarters today and tomorrow. Thirty-five ministers from OECD member states, including Japan and Mexico, will attend this year's meeting, which will focus on discussing how to harness the benefits of global trade, said Australia's Trade Minister Steve Ciobo, who will co-chair the meeting.

Workshop on assistive technology

The Infocomm Media Development Authority and technology company Apple will be holding an assistive technology workshop today. The workshop is meant to raise awareness and spur the adoption of assistive technologies for people with disabilities.

Australia posts economic growth data

Australia will release its first-quarter economic growth figures today, which economists expect to show growth of just 0.3 per cent, if not a contraction.

The Reserve Bank of Australia yesterday kept interest rates unchanged for the 10th straight month, amid a weakening construction sector, slow wage growth and declining house prices.
