UK votes on Brexit referendum

Britain votes today on whether it should remain in or leave the European Union.

Polls are set to open at 7am (2pm Singapore time) and close at 10pm (5am Singapore time on Friday), and counting begins as soon as the last votes are cast. The result of the referendum is expected tomorrow.

Travel Smart Day event at Asia Square

The Land Transport Authority's annual Travel Smart Day is happening today at Asia Square, The Cube, from 7am to 10.30am.

At the event, the public can learn how to save on travel fares - such as by travelling free during off-peak periods in the early morning on weekdays if they exit designated MRT stations in the city area - as well as join a fitness workout.

Forum to discuss ventures overseas

Mr Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry (Trade), is the guest of honour at the inaugural Internationalisation Forum 2016 today. Organised by Human Capital Singapore, the forum will be attended by some 400 executives from multinational firms, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as public sector agencies to discuss business ventures overseas. GIC group president Lim Siong Guan will speak at a special luncheon session.
