Heathrow Airport expansion up for vote

British lawmakers will vote today on a proposal to build a third runway at London's Heathrow Airport, amid strong opposition to the expansion plan.

London residents fear the extra noise and pollution caused by more flights.

But Prime Minister Theresa May has demanded that all her Conservative MPs back the plan when it finally comes before the House of Commons after years of debate.


Expert panel to discuss fake news

The roles and social responsibilities of key industry players involved in fake news will be discussed at a panel in Singapore today.

Organised as part of the East-West Centre's International Media Conference, the panel comprises public policymakers, traditional media, technology companies and academia.

The four-day conference, which ends on Wednesday, seeks to look at new trends and changes in the media industry.


LTC Corp share cash offer ends today

Today is the deadline for the unconditional cash offer for LTC Corp shares.

Shareholders have until 5.30pm to accept the offer of 92.5 cents a share.

Mountbatten Enterprises, the offeror, has said the offer will not be extended.
