G-20 summit starts today

The Group of 20, or G-20, Leaders' Summit begins today in Hamburg, Germany.

Up to 100,000 demonstrators are expected to turn up during the two-day meeting that will bring US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders to the city.


Salvation Army's fund-raising dinner

The Salvation Army is holding its annual fund-raising event, the Red Shield Appeal Dinner, tonight. The theme for the event at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is "Building a Community of Hope". The Salvation Army hopes to get strong support from its partners, donors and volunteers to work together to help the underprivileged.


Update on property market

The Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore is holding a property market update seminar today at Orchard Hotel. This comes in the wake of recent signs that the residential property market is stirring, based on aggressive bids for land by developers both under the Government Land Sales programme and collective sales by private owners. The seminar will go beyond the state of the residential market and examine industrial, retail and hotel sectors.
