G-7 foreign ministers meet

Foreign ministers from the G-7 group of major industrialised nations hold a two-day meeting in the Tuscan city of Lucca starting today.

The meeting comes after US missile strikes on a Syrian airbase said by the United States to have been involved in the gas attack on a Syrian town last week. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will attend the G-7 meeting and then visit Moscow to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.


Endowment fund to improve social work

The Mrs Lee Choon Guan Endowed Research Fund - named after the late founding president of the Chinese Women's Association and wife of prominent businessman Lee Choon Guan - will be launched today at the NUS Shaw Foundation Alumni House.

The fund will allow the NUS Department of Social Work to engage with front-line practitioners to conduct practice research that will enhance service provision and delivery.


mm2 Asia unit to premiere on Catalist

UnUsUaL, a spin-off from film and TV content producer mm2 Asia, will make its debut on the Singapore Exchange's Catalist today. UnUsUaL placed out 97 million shares at 20 cents apiece to raise $19.4 million. The firm organises and promotes events such as concerts, mostly in Singapore.
