Ukraine watching Trump impeachment proceedings with trepidation

LONDON - As the impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump unfold in the United States Senate, the people of Ukraine - the country which through no fault of its own became the subject of the scandal now engulfing the Trump administration - can do little more than just watch with apprehension the proceedings in Washington.

A few Ukrainian leaders hope that some good may come from these hearings, and that being in the spotlight - even if it is for all the wrong reasons - could endear Ukraine to future American decision-makers.
