LONDON - Britain looks set to join the list of countries sanctioned by China as relations between the two countries nosedive in the wake of the new security legislation in Hong Kong.

The British government will "bear the consequences" if it treats China as a "hostile country", Mr Liu Xiaoming, China's ambassador in London warned in comments to the media earlier this week.
