Tycoon Poroshenko wins Ukraine vote in first round: Exit poll

KIEV (AFP) - Pro-Western billionaire Petro Poroshenko won Ukraine's presidential election in the first round Sunday with nearly 56 per cent of the vote, an exit poll said.

Former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko trailed in distant second with less than 13 per cent of the vote, according to the joint National Exit Poll study, which had a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
