Turkish elections may herald end of Erdogan's winning streak

He could lose his parliamentary majority, or suffer dent to his reputation even if he prevails

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has an unrivalled political record.

Over the 15 years he has ruled his nation - first as prime minister and then as head of state - he has clocked up no fewer than 12 successive electoral victories in a country where politics are always heavily contested.
