Youthful forms of protest have made the old guard look helpless and dubious

Every time Swedish activist Greta Thunberg drums up support for another mass rally against climate change, she leaves the leaders of mainstream parties in a state of tense anticipation.

The 16-year-old is not only able to mobilise young people in numbers the old guard can only dream of, the initiator of the green movement "Fridays For Future" can also voice criticism in a way others cannot.
