Relatives holding placards with pictures of Ukrainian servicemen captured by pro-Russian separatists in the uncontrolled territories of Ukrainian Donbass at a rally yesterday outside the office of President Petro Poroshenko in Kiev. Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, who was freed from a Russian jail last May and is currently a lawmaker in the Ukrainian Parliament and a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, organised the rally to pressure for the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war in rebel-held eastern parts of the country. She also launched a hunger strike on Aug 2 in protest at the government's failure to secure the return of the prisoners.
