Putin says 'impossible' to isolate Russia over Ukraine

SAINT PETERSBURG (AFP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that it was "impossible" to isolate Russia from the global economy despite pressure from the West over the crisis in Ukraine.

Speaking to foreign news agency journalists in Saint Petersburg, Putin also denied claims that Moscow was seeking to restore the Soviet empire, saying this is "absolutely untrue".
