Two adorable new photos of six-month-old Princess Charlotte shared on Instagram on Sunday (Nov 29) by Prince William and Kate Middleton already have the entire world buzzing.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to be able to share two new photographs of Princess Charlotte," said a caption in the images released by Kensington Palace on the social media platform. "They were taken by The Duchess in early November at their home in Norfolk."

The Prince and his wife, both 33, have largely kept both Princess Charlotte and her two-year-old brother, Prince George, out of the limelight since their births.

In fact, the proud mum took the photos herself with no intention of releasing them. But Kate was so taken by how they turned out, according to the Daily Mail, that she decided to share them with everyone.

Prince William himself has been hard-pressed not to share his delight with fatherhood telling reporters in July that it all felt "fantastic".

"She's been a little joy from heaven," he told them after the birth of his daughter. "But at the same time, it's a lot more responsibility, looking after two little ones, especially when George is around. He's a little monkey."

See the family resemblance? Prince George, when he was two months shy of his second birthday, and his sister Princess Charlotte at six months old.

The first photo released shows Princess Charlotte sitting on a gingham-print armchair wearing a pink cardigan and stylish hair-do. The second shows her carrying on a conversation with her stuffed animal puppy.

In the caption, the proud couple said: "The Duke and Duchess continue to receive warm messages about Princess Charlotte from all around the world and they hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do."
