This giant "whale" in front of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Italy, is 10m long and is made up of 250kg of plastic waste. That is also the amount of plastic that goes into the ocean every second. Plasticus, as the "whale" is called, was created to raise awareness of the problem of ocean plastic pollution. The installation is on display during the National Geographic Science Festival in Rome until Sunday.
