Parisians kick up a stink over eco-friendly urinals

A man standing in front of a "uritrottoir", one of several public dry urinals intended to be odourless that have been installed in Paris, a city where men are regularly seen urinating on the street. But some residents have complained that the bright red boxes are a blight on the streets. Others say it is distasteful to encourage men to urinate right on the street, even if it is into a box.

A new set of eco-friendly but completely exposed urinals deployed on the streets of Paris are provoking uproar from locals, particularly one installed on the tourist hotspot of Ile Saint-Louis.
