Paris shooting: Thousands across the world come together in solidarity with Charlie Hebdo attack victims

The attack by gunmen on the Paris office of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, which killed 12 including editor-in-chief Stephane Charbonnier, has brought thousands of people across the world together in solidarity.

Hundreds of thousands gathered in cities across France such as Marseille, Toulouse and Lyon for rallies and candlelight vigils, and around Europe and Canada - in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Berlin, London and Rome, among others - as well. We look at some of the best pictures:
