UK basks in its hottest September day in 105 years.

LONDON (Reuters) - Public health warnings were issued on Thursday (Sept 13) as parts of the United Kingdom experienced a record-breaking temperature of 32 deg C, the hottest September day since 1911, according to the Met Office.

Iced treats cooled London Zoo's animals. Meerkats enjoyed icy blocks for lunch, while the zoo's penguins kept their cool in the pool.

The hot and muggy weather is in the forecast for London through the weekend.
