British election: Lib Dems to elect new leader after Swinson loses seat

LONDON • Britain's pro-European-Union Liberal Democrats yesterday said they would elect a new leader to replace Ms Jo Swinson, who lost her seat in the general election.

Ms Swinson's deputy, Mr Ed Davey, and party president Sal Brinton would become joint acting leaders, and a leadership election will take place in the new year, the Lib Dems said.
