A Swiss Federal Customs Administration photo released yesterday shows elephant tusks seized at Zurich's airport last month. The haul of ivory, worth more than US$400,000 (S$550,700) on the black market, was on its way from Tanzania to China via Zurich, the Swiss authorities said. The 262kg of ivory had been chopped up and stashed in eight suitcases, along with around 1kg of lion teeth and claws.
