Mr Paul Broome’s final send-off was as unique as his sense of humour – he was laid to rest in a coffin designed to look like a Snickers candy bar, a request he had long joked about and later formalised in his will.

The 55-year-old from Bognor, West Sussex, England, was known for his quick wit and mischievous personality. Throughout his life, he often made light-hearted remarks about wanting a Snickers-themed coffin, and when the time came, his family ensured his wish was honoured, The Argus, a Sussex-based publication, reported on March 19.

The custom-made coffin, styled after the popular candy bar which has nuts in it, featured the phrase “I’m nuts!” – a fitting nod to Mr Broome’s fun-loving nature.

In addition to the chocolate bar theme, his coffin also bore the emblem of Crystal Palace FC, an English Premier League football club he supported.

Mr Broome’s son Josh shared in a Facebook post that the funeral took place on Jan 10.

Mr Paul Broome worked as a care assistant in nursing homes, dedicating his career to supporting adults with learning difficulties.
