PARIS - German musician Davide Martello brought a moment of relative calm on Saturday to the area around the Bataclan concert hall where many were killed in a deadly attack on Friday.

Mr Martello played John Lennon's Imagine on a piano attached to his bicycle for a small crowd, reported BBC.

The musician, who previously played at the sites of the Charlie Hebdo attacks earlier this year, has a history of taking his piano to socially significant events.

In June 2013, he sat amid protesters in Istanbul's Taksim Square and played for 14 hours straight. According to reports, he built the piano himself and pulled it on a trailer from his hometown Konstanz, Germany, to Istanbul.

"My goal is to travel around the whole world with my grand piano and to inspire people in the middle of the streets," he wrote on his Facebook page. "I compose my own stuff usually in the street or daydreams."
