Riot police facing off against protesters opposing rising fuel prices in Bordeaux yesterday. Demonstrators blocked access to fuel depots and stopped traffic on major roads in France, after the government refused to back down on fuel tax hikes despite a weekend of protests. At its peak, there were over 2,000 such blockades last Saturday. More protests are planned for this weekend.
