France's Hollande hopes for 'progress' with India's Modi over jet deal

VALLON-PONT-D'ARC, France (AFP) - President Francois Hollande said on Friday he hoped to be able to make "progress" with his Indian counterpart over a potentially multi-billion-euro deal for French fighter jets.

Hollande said: "I want us to make progress during the course of the visit" of Narendra Modi, as the Indian Prime Minister kicked off his maiden trip to France with all eyes on a possible breakthough in the deal for the Rafale planes.
