Foul play in Kerch Strait may backfire against Moscow

If the Kerch Strait incident on Sunday was following a meticulously orchestrated plan by the Russians, then the military wisdom of the Kremlin crew has to be seriously questioned.

The stand-off at one of the most sensitive points between Russia and Ukraine - the passage from the Black Sea into the Sea of Azov - could heavily backfire against Moscow. At risk is the planned gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, to run between Russia, Germany and other parts of Western Europe.
