Final gift to fellow cancer patients

Terminally ill with a brain tumour, Dutchman Frederik van den Broek displays a mock-up of his MindApp shortly before his death in Amsterdam in late August. Mr van den Broek, who died at 41, had served as his own guinea pig in building a smartphone app for fellow cancer patients. MindApp for Android and Apple mobile phones will let users track and update appointments, help them remember who their doctors are and even help manage the myriad pills they must take, with a few simple clicks. It will also allow patients to input notes on their condition and let doctors give feedback based on the notes.
