An operation was underway yesterday to try and stop a Norwegian navy frigate from sinking after it collided with a Maltese oil tanker in a fjord in western Norway. Eight people had minor injuries in the accident that took place in a busy waterway in the Hjeltefjord near Bergen, Norway's military said. All 137 people on board the frigate, which recently took part in a major Nato military exercise, were evacuated.
