British PM risks defeat in Parliament on divorce plan

Unless May gets unlikely support from the opposition, Brexit draft may be voted down

British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing the most desperate battle of her political life as Parliament begins debating the ratification of a draft agreement specifying the conditions of the country's withdrawal from the European Union.

Mrs May, who spent 17 months negotiating the 585-page agreement, has hailed it as a "decisive choice" that is "in the best interests of the entire UK", and will allow Britain to regain control of its borders and money.
