A week of failure and personal humiliation for British Prime Minister

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson knew all along that the first week in September would provide a critical test to his government.

For he came to power only in late July, just as Britain's Parliament dispersed for the summer break. And, given the fact that the new Prime Minister was always a controversial figure, his first encounter with lawmakers after their return from holidays was bound to be difficult.
