Egypt court acquits ex-PM of corruption

CAIRO (AFP) - An Egyptian court has acquitted Ahmed Shafiq, a former prime minister and presidential candidate, and two sons of ousted dictator Hosni Mubarak, of corruption charges.

Shafiq, who served as Mr Mubarak's last prime minister before his 2011 ouster, was tried in absentia. He faces another corruption trial, as do Mr Mubarak's sons.
