LONDON (Reuters) - The Dalai Lama ventured very briefly into American politics by giving a good-humoured impression of United States Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on British television.

The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader gave an interview to Good Morning Britain on ITV which aired on Thursday (Sept 22), showing him bringing his hand up to his head to gesture Mr Trump's much-publicised hairstyle.

"And his mouth, small," the Dalai Lama added.

During the interview, the Buddhist monk also said that if Mr Trump were to invite him for a meeting, he would go.
