A World Health Organisation (WHO) panel said a modified Covid-19 vaccine that targets the Omicron variant can be used as a booster dose to broaden immunity.
Such a variant-adapted vaccine may benefit those who have already received the primary series of shots, added the panel, citing available data.
Vaccine makers, including Moderna and Pfizer, are developing a potential next-generation booster targeted at both the Omicron and original strains.
