KELOWNA, CANADA (REUTERS) - A home security camera caught the moment a meteor flying over Canada burst into flames on Monday (Sept 4).

Jake Polzin's home camera recorded the impressive moment at 10.11pm (Canada local time) on the north end of the city of Kelowna in British Columbia.

British Columbia's chief fire information officer Kevin Skrepnek wrote on Twitter: "(W)hile sitting on a patio in #NelsonBC the entire sky lit up and a meteorite came down. Huge boom about 1m (metre) later."
