Bangladesh opposition chief to face corruption trial

DHAKA (AFP) - Bangladesh oopposition leader Khaleda Zia is to go on trial next month over charges that she and her associates embezzled around US$600,000 (S$760,000), a court ruled on Wednesday.

The two-time former premier, who boycotted elections in January, is to go on trial from April 21 along with nine co-accused, a judge ruled at a sitting of a special anti-corruption court in the capital Dhaka.
