Up to five injured in Toronto stabbing rampage

OTTAWA (AFP) - As many as five people were injured on Wednesday morning in a stabbing rampage at an office park in the Canadian city of Toronto, police told AFP.

Toronto police Constable Jenniferjit Sidhu said "a person armed with scissors or a knife" busted into a fifth floor office in a building in the city's north end.

"Two to five people in the office were injured," she said.

One victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

A suspect - a man in his 30s - has been arrested, she said, adding that a heavily armed emergency response unit has secured the building.

The incident comes the same morning an American student stabbed or slashed 20 teenagers and an adult in the classrooms and hallways of a high school in the US state of Pennsylvania.
