Action Plan on Successful Ageing

Later today, Minister-in-charge of Ageing Issues Gan Kim Yong will announce details of the Action Plan on Successful Ageing. The Ministerial Committee on Ageing has engaged some 4,000 members of the public and grassroots leaders - through close to 50 focus group discussions, "listening points" set up in public spaces such as libraries and malls, and online consultations - to find out their aspirations and views on ageing successfully.


South Sudan peace deal

South Sudan's president is expected to sign a peace deal today to end a 20-month conflict. President Salva Kiir delayed signing the deal last week, prompting US threats of United Nations sanctions if he did not meet a two-week deadline to agree. The conflict, which has exposed deep ethnic divisions, erupted after a power struggle between Mr Kiir and his former deputy Riek Machar.


CPF investment funds' Q2 performance

Lipper will unveil the second quarter performance of investment funds approved by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) today.

Funds under the CPF Investment Scheme (CPFIS) posted an average rise of 5.17 per cent in the first quarter. Mr Xav Feng, head of research, Asia Pacific, Lipper, will present the CPFIS-included funds' performance. This will include detailed analysis of global fund flows and performance of different types of funds.
