Singapore's PM Lee sends condolences to Kenya over university attack

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has sent his condolences to Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta over the attack at Garissa University College on Thursday that killed at least 148 people.

Mr Lee, on behalf of the Singapore Government, told Mr Kenyatta that he was "shocked and saddened" that many of the victims were students, and strongly condemned the "dastardly act of terror", according to the letter that was released by Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

The Prime Minister also said the incident was a reminder of the danger of terrorism, and that the international community must "remain steadfast" in its efforts to counter it.

Finally, Mr Lee said his thoughts were with Mr Kenyatta and the Kenyan people.
