Two of three men stranded on the uninhabited island of Fanadik in Micronesia waving life jackets next to palm fronds spelling the word "HELP" as a US Navy Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft discovered them on April 7. Their boat had capsized three days earlier. The men were soon rescued.
