6.4-magnitude quake strikes Papua New Guinea: USGS

SYDNEY (AFP) - A strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Papua New Guinea on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said, but no tsunami warning was issued.

The quake hit at 09:14 am (7.14am Singapore time), 31 km north of Rabaul, the USGS said. It was about 18 km deep.
